“The Marie Antoinette,”
She had her cake and now you can too. Start off you day in an ornate café where you’ll rub shoulders with French bourgeoisie over the most decadent hot chocolate the city has to offer. Next, head off to the best macaron makers in the Paris, where you will stock up not only on raspberry, coffee and chocolate macaroons but also basil, ginger and the Pierre Hermès famous foie gras macaron. Next, try not to devour your purchases, the time will come….  we’ll head over to a trendy Japanese pastry shop (just next to Catherine Deneuve’s apartment) that does it’s own take on the famous macaron and have a quick tea. And just when you were beginning to really wonder how to make your own macaron, we’ll stop by the kitchen of a young pastry chef to learn a technique or two. When you can’t take it any more I’ll send you off to Versailles in a chauffered car to picnic on the lawns of this majestic palace.

Price: 400€ for up to 4 people, roundtrip cost for chauffeured vehicule with Elysées Cars to Versailles included.
Times: Macaron tour, ideally morning, 10am-1pm, Versailles visit, 1pm-4pm

“The True Gourmand”
Although you may not want to admit it, you came to Paris for the food. And not just croissants and café crèmes. You want to sink your teeth into hard-core French delicacies. Whether you are planning a dinner party at your luxury rental or you want to go home with some trophies, this is what I suggest: we start with foie gras, either where they sell the best or in your kitchen, where I’ll show you an ingenious method for making foie gras on the fly. Your days planning will take you to off-the-beaten-path locations where chefs do their shopping.  You can pick up authentic Laguiole knives, copper pots and exquisite molds at restaurant supply stores. Then its on to the food. Your delicacies might include a suckling pig, (either brought back to your place to cook or pre-cooked), the best oysters from Normandy, caviar from Pierre Bergé (ex of Yves Saint Laurent), off the charts produce and Jambon Iberica from Joêl Robuchon’s supplier (vacuum packed if you like). And we’ll end the day with wine and cheese tasting with an amicable oenologue.

Price: 350€ for up to 4 people
Times: 10am-1pm or 4pm-7pm
A chauffered vehicule with Elysées Cars may be arranged for an additional 200€
